Pilots
qualifications
Nowadays what rules aviation is neither the FAA, nor the aircraft manufactures, nor Arthur
Wolk and his aviation attorney friends, but the insurance companies. Therefore, to become a FerrAir, Ltd.
customer, you would have to show documented evidence of an IFR rating and tons of high performance aircraft experience.
Well, not exactly. Here it is:
ü Private
Pilot License or higher
ü
IFR rating
ü
500 total logged flight hours
ü 50 hours retractable gear
ü 25
hours in Beechcraft A36 (C33’s, V35’s,….. do not count for spit).
If you are a phanatic member of the American Bonanza
Society and have taken recently one of their Bonanza Pilot Proficiency Program (BPPP) courses, you will enjoy Preferred Customer
Status (nothing much, just honorable mention in this web site).
If you cannot meet these flying experience requirements, different arrangements
must be taken. Contact FerrAir, Ltd. for details. Carrying your own renter insurance is probably a good idea, anyway.
Rental Prices
FerrAir is pleased to offer its customers
the exceptionally low price of $ 110.00 per flight hour, not including fuel. This is computed off the on-board hour meter,
that is tied to the landing gear weight-on-wheel switch, therefore only actual flight time is recorded. Do not expedite your
pre-take-off checklist: you are not paying rental time while on the ground, even if the engine is running.
The airplane is routinely delivered at the Northeast Philadelphia Airport (KPNE), topped off
with fuel (80 USG's, 74 usable). The customer returns the airplane in the same condition. If not, the missing fuel cost
is added to the invoice (no surcharge, this is not AVIS).
Rental
Conditions
FerrAir, Ltd. rents its fleet of airplane(s) for full days, and charges flight
time by the hour (the Bonanza is not an airplane for local flights). You can reserve up to a month in advance
and for up to a full week. The minimum charge is for 2 flight hours the first day, and 1.5 hours per day
thereafter. This means that if you keep the airplane for a week and do not fly a single hour, you will
be charged $ 1,210.00, plus taxes. Not good, but if you fly 11 hours total, the price would be the same. Short-term lease
arrangements for periods longer than a week can be negotiated on a case-by-case basis. FerrAir, Ltd. is
very flexible.
